I Wonder
A Song by Marc W. McCord
(C) March 17, 2002

I wonder if she thinks of me when things aren't going right.
I wonder if she calls my name in the middle of the night.
I wonder if she wakes from sleep, a tear drop in her eye.
I wonder if her thoughts of me are accompanied by a sigh.

I wonder if she misses me as much as I miss her.
I wonder if the things we did within her cause a stir.
I wonder what she's doing now when we are both alone.
I wonder how her voice would sound if we were on the phone.

I wonder if she knows I care, or if she feels the same.
I wonder why we had to play a childish, silly game.
I wonder if she knows the pain I feel for losing her.
I wonder where we'd be tonight if love were not a blur.

(Chorus) Why did things go badly? Where did we go wrong?
All I ever really wanted was to love her all night long.
How can I undo the mess of things I made
and shine a little sunshine upon our love's parade?

I wonder how I could have walked out saying not one word.
I wonder what got into me and made me so absurd.
I wonder if I'll ever get to kiss and hold her tight
like I'm doing in my dreams yet one more time tonight.

I wonder if a love can bloom amidst the desert sand.
I wonder how I let a love like her's slip from my hand.
I wonder if I'll ever see the lovely work of art
that once was mine to have and hold so deep within her heart.

(Chorus) Why did things go badly? Where did we go wrong?
All I ever really wanted was to love her all night long.
How can I undo the mess of things I made
and shine a little sunshine upon our love's parade?
And shine a little sunshine upon the love we made?
