Today
A Poem for Lynda

Today I cried.
Tears of joy filled my eyes.
After years I realize
It's you I've always loved.

Today I smiled.
A thousand grins crossed my face.
My stride is now a quicker pace.
It's you I've always loved.

Today I laughed.
Happiness has never been so great.
Contentment now fills my plate.
It's you I've always loved.

Today I reminesced.
I thought about our first date,
And how you should have been my mate.
It's you I've always loved.

Today I grew.
The past is now a memory.
You are now in love with me.
It's you I've always loved.

Today I loved.

I kissed your lips and took a stand.
It's you I've always loved.

Today I cried.
