Rio Bonita
A Song by Marc W. McCord
(C) May 20, 1997

I saw you when I was driving down Texas 16
There you were looking like a Hill Country queen
Everything about you just made me feel a special way
And I knew I had to get to know you on this special day

You've got curves, the kind that always mesmerize
When at first I saw you it was love showing in my eyes
Running past those onion fields along beside the Cypress trees
You were as refreshing as the Texas springtime breeze

I knew right then and there that I had to try you on for size
And as I went down on you I suddenly began to realize
That you are the gem of Bandera County and you'll always be
as pretty as a post card of a river lined with Cypress trees

(Chorus)

Rio Bonita, beautiful river
Something tells me that we'll meet again
Rio Medina, beautiful river
You're a place I think of as a friend
Rio Bonita, beautiful river
Rock my soul and steal my heart away
Rio Medina, beautiful river
on your water is where I will stay

I first met you on a springtime Texas Sunday morn
You made me feel as if I'd just been born
Paddling the Cathedral was a lifetime memory
One which cannot ever be taken away from me

I saw you when I was driving down Texas 16
There you were looking like a Hill Country queen
Everything about you just made me feel a special way
And I knew I had to get to know you on this special day

(Chorus)

Rio Bonita, beautiful river
Something tells me that we'll meet again
Riop Medina, beautiful river
You're a place I think of as a friend
Rio Bonita, beautiful river
Rock my soul and steal my heart away
Rio Medina, beautiful river
on your water is where I will stay

Everything about you just made me feel a special way
And I knew I'd always love you ever since that special day
And I knew I'd always love you ever since that special day
