Poetry of Marc W. McCord

Time to Fly

It's time to fly
time to spread my wings and kiss the sky
time to see what's on the other side
time to take a bow, to take the ride
time to give up everything I own
time to find myself another home.
It's time to fly.

It's time to fly
time to roll the dice and see what falls
time to think of friends I seldom call
time to visit islands in my mind
time to weep for those I'll leave behind
time to go to that eternal day.
It's time to fly.

It's time to fly
time to find the rest that waits for me
time to go where I really want to be
time to find some peace for my weary soul
time to go and take that final stroll
time to sing the song that's in my heart.
It's time to fly.

It's time to fly
time to say my best was not so good
time to make amends for all I should
time to stop the pain I always feel
time to realize what I can't conceal
time to pass the torch to someone else.
It's time to fly. So long. Farewell. Good-bye.
