The Blues Followed Me Home
A Song by Marc W. McCord
(C) February 23, 2002

Since I was a young man love evaded me
It seems like love was never meant to be
Now that I'm older
It looks like love has been foolin' me

I find a woman evrywhere I roam
Dallas, Austin, Tempe all the way to Nome
But everytime I do
The blues just follows me home

(Chorus) The blues followed me home and settled in to stay
It don't matter what I do, the blues won't go away
The blues followed me home and settled in my heart
No matter where I go the blues and me will never part

Under a bad sign some men were surely born
Under a bad sign some hearts were meant to be torn
But I don't feel that way
I'm just a man whose heart is blues worn

Someday I hope true love will come to me
If I get luck these blues will let me be
The way things are goin'
These blues ain't never gonna set me free

(Chorus) The blues followed me home and settled in to stay
It don't matter what I do, the blues won't go away
The blues followed me home and settled in my heart
No matter where I go the blues and me will never part

The way things are going
The blues followed me home to stay
