Chuck Babb started paddling at the age 11, as a Boy Scout. Since then, he has become an American Canoe Association certified Level 4 OC-1 and OC-2 canoe and Level 3 K-1 kayak instructor, as well as a Level 5 swiftwater rescue instructor. He also holds American Red Cross medical certifications in First Aid, CPR and AED in addition to an American Red Cross certification as a basic river canoeing instructor.
Chuck is an active member of the Arkansas Canoe Club and is a canoe and kayak instructor with that organization. He is a leader of numerous youth and outdoor education events on the water. He is a river canoe and kayak instructor for the Sam Houston Area Council of Boy Scouts of America where he started a BSA district canoe event now running over 15 years in length. He has been in paddle sports, safety and rescue instruction since 1990.
Chuck's son, Marcus, is a professional river raft and video guide on the New and Gauley rivers in West Virginia, maintaining a family tradition of enjoyment of river paddling and instruction.
